SEC Calls for Comments

As posted on SEC’s Facebook – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is publishing the draft Memorandum Circular titled “Recalibrated Ceilings on Interest Rates and Other Fees Charged by Financing Companies, Lending Companies, and Their Online Lending Platforms” for public comment.

The draft MC applies to unsecured, general-purpose loans not exceeding P20,000.00 and with a loan tenor not exceeding six (6) months, entered into beginning 01 December 2025, and sets an Effective Interest Rate ceiling of 10% per month, with administrative sanctions for non-compliance.
